Accountant – Sr Level Technical Requirements: Supplier resources will have the following skills / experience / background: • General Accountant / Cost Accountant / Tax Accountant o Proficient with MS Excel o Strong time management, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills o Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance o one to three years experience o All skills / experience of the Junior level o Solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills o Four years experience o CPA or CMA preferred The following accountants will have the experience of the General Accountant / Cost Accountant / Tax Accountant and the additional skills listed below: • Investment Accountant o Experience in daily accounting, and performance and periodic reporting o Experience with general ledgers, journal entries, account reconciliations, options, swaps, warrants and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) o One to three years experience in investment and / or mutual fund accounting • Mutual Fund Accountant o Demonstrated ability to focus on details and accuracy o Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills o Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or finance, or a related degree o Two to three years experience in mutual fund accounting o Proficient in database development and maintenance Tasks: The following itemized tasks are to be provided by Supplier in the performance of Services described under this JOB DESCRIPTION. • Prepare journal entries • Assist with operational and financial audits • Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts • Research and correct accounting discrepancies • Cost accountant will also develop depreciation schedules • Tax accountant will also assist in the maintenance of tax records, tax preparation and research and maintenance of the department's tax compliance calendar • Mutual Fund and Investment Accountant will also calculate daily, weekly, and monthly net asset value, preparing monthly cash flow investment activity reports with detailed year-end balances for cash, bonds, equities and other investments, compile information for financial reports, regulatory filings and compliance reports. • Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts • Assist with internal control evaluations • Post monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals • Tax accountant will also research tax laws and regulations, complete various corporate tax returns, provide assistance during tax audits and respond to notices from tax authorities • Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances • Prepare financial statements • Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas • Assist with budget preparation and monthly budget variance analyses • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules • Assist with internal control evaluations • Cost accountant will also perform life-cycle cost-benefit analysis • Tax accountant will also assure compliance with federal, state and local tax laws and regulations
